Goals

Here are my goals:

Nutrition Goals -
  • Recommit to a paleo/primal style of eating 90% of the time - for me this means no processed foods or grains
  • Limit coffee to 2x/wk
  • Limit dark chocolate to 3x/wk
  • Limit alcohol to 1x/wk
Fitness Goals -
  • Do 5 unassisted pullups in a row
  • Do 3 kipping pullups in a row
  • Do chest to bar pullups with the lightest band possible
  • Do 5 consecutive toes to bar
  • Do 1 unassisted ring dip with good range of motion
  • Do a handstand and hold for 45 seconds
  • Do more WODs as Rx or at least push to use a heavier weight
In case you can't tell those darn pull ups have been my nemesis for a while. I can get them, but not with any consistency and they certainly aren't pretty. I will get them. And the handstands are all in my head. It is a stupid thing, but I have the hardest time kicking up into it. I am pretty sure I can hold it for a while once I am up, but getting up into a handstand is the hardest part for me.

I am nervous to start this challenge. I have gone paleo/primal before and stuck with for quite a while. I got complacent about it in the last few months, but had struck a good balance of cheats versus good behavior. I was doing ok until a week or so ago. Apparently my emotional eating demons can come back when I get lazy about clean eating and have family turmoil in my life. This last week has been a parade of sugary coffee drinks and chocolate brought by friends to 'help' me deal with a difficult time in my life. No excuses come tomorrow! I know I feel better when I eat better and take of myself. The first couple days aren't going to be pretty because a lot of the day is out of my control, but I will persevere and make it happen. For me!
